Call For Bradley Roberts Resignation

Following his announcement that he will remain in office for a full term, the Action Group of the Free National Movement are now calling for the immediate resignation of Minister of Works Bradley Roberts.

The outspken arm of the opposition party has accused Prime Minister Perry Christie and the minister of misleading the Bahamian public and the constituents of bain and Grants Town.

The FNM Action Group said that in the campaign leading up to the May 2002 election, the minister had stated his intention to only remain a Member of Parliament for half of the five year term.

The Action Group accused Mr. Roberts of not only misleading the “Rev. Dr. CB Moss, but the entire Bahamian public particularly the good and decent people of the Bain and Grants Town constituency, whom he represents in parliament”. It was the Action Group’s opinion that if the residents of the district had known that Mr. Roberts would not have kept his word, they would not have voted for him.
