A Canadian has been found dead in his room at a Bahamian resort where he recently began work as a chef, police said. A preliminary investigation indicates the 21-year-old man from Laval, Que., who was found hanged on Tuesday, had committed suicide, said police Chief Hulan Hanna.
The man arrived in the Bahamas on Sunday to begin work at the Club Med resort on San Salvador island.
“Club Med has engaged the services of a professional grief counsellor to help the staff deal with the situation,” said a spokesman for the resort.
