Officials from the Water and Sewerage Corporation are again urging New Providence residents to conserve water after new problems developed with a barge that transports more thean three million gallons of water a day to the island from Andros.
The island is threatened with a water shortage for the holiday season as the water supply in New Providence remains at a critical level due to mechanical problems experienced by the vessel. The boat brings more than 30 per cent of the corporation’s daily water supply.
Water will be shut off daily from 10am to 3pm and again from 9pm to 5am.
