Fabian Joffre, 24, of Yellow Elder Gardens became the country’s fourth murder victim for the year 2005 following an altercation on Wednesday night.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Reginald Ferguson, Mr. Joffre was at West End Court when he was struck by a bullet.
Mr, Ferguson said it is believed one person involved in the dispute left the scene only to return a short time later in a vehicle. The argument resumed and shots were fired.
Becoming the fourth murder victim of the year, his death follows the shooting of security guard, Richard Petty, who was killed while on duty at a Nassau pharmacy on January 13.
Police found the body of Tevarus Marlin Johnson, 20, in the driver’s seat of a Ford Escort, with severe gunshot wounds to the face on January 8.
The country recorded its first murder victim for 2005 with the death of 29-year-old Brian Cephus Sands, who was shot on Sunshine Park shortly after he and his friends were attacked by two men on January 3.
