Man To Be Charged In Connection With Jitney Incident

A man arrested by police in connection with last Friday’s incident, in which three passengers were brutally beaten and thrown out of a moving vehicle, is expected to be charged.

A 36-year-old resident of Firetrail Road is expected to be appear before the courts today to face charges of causing harm.

Police also continue to have the jitney’s driver in custody for questioning as investigations continue.

Press liason officer Chief Supt. Hulan Hanna said yesterday that “as much as I sympathise with the victims and as horrific as this incident was it is an isolated case”.

He told The Tribune that at this time the police see no need to place undercover officers on jitney buses.
