Prime Minister Perry Christie said on Thursday that his government has established a principle of applying a well thought out strategy for the nation’s physical development, parting with the accepted culture of improvisatory decision-making.
“Everything done in this country must make sense,” said Mr. Christie, during the formal presentation of the completed hard copy of plans for the redevelopment of Bay Street by leading landbased design and planning firm EDAW.
The master plan, which will be tabled in Parliament, was created by a team of elite students participating in the EDAW’s 24th Summer Student Programme held here in June 2004.
The investment group seeking to purchase the Wyndham, Radisson and Nassau Beach hotels has also contracted EDAW to help develop a concept for a new resort to be constructed, if the acquisition is successful.
