At least thirty traders have ben removed from the Straw Market in the past week for being illegal immigrants and failing to have the proper documentation, it was revealed yesterday.
Inspections for proper documentation started last week with the Ministry of Trade and Industry officials requiring vendors to produce a national insurance card, a bahamian passport, birth certificate, and an up-to-date business licence.
A number of stalls have been closed since the checks for failing to have the correct documentation to trade or live in the country.
