Racism Alive and Well In The Bahamas

Members of the Nassau Yacht Club are reportedly set to file a police report against disgruntled employees of the club who they said hurled racial slurs at them and tried to physically assault one member.

They claim the workers are turning union difficulties into a racial dispute.

The abuse comes on the heels of a breakdown in contract negotiations between the management and the employee’s bargaining unit, The Bahamas Hotel, Catering and Allied Workers Union.

The union claims that management engaged in “union busting”” when it abruptly fired 11 employees in the midst of contract negotiations.
