Two Robbed by Gunmen In Grand Bahama

Two men were gunbutted and robbed by a pair of masked gunmen who got away with $600 in cash, Grand Bahama police reported yesterday.


Florentin Berechet, 39, a Romanian employee of the Grand Bahama Shipyard, told police he had just left his apartment at Windsor on the Mall around 3am Saturday when he was approached by two masked men, one armed with a handgun and the other with a shotgun.


In other crime news: A pizza delivery woman was saved from a robbery by a passing motorist on Friday around 7:30 pm.


Papa John’s employee, Karen White, 35, told the police she had just made delivery to an apartment at Bell Channel in Lucaya and was about to drive off when a young man standing at the roadside told her, “miss, your back trunk is open”.

When she got out to investigate the man attacked her. An approaching vehicle scared him man off.
