American Kathleen Dwyer joins the hundreds of foreigners who feel they have been denied justice in Bahamian courts, as the man who she says attacked her was aquitted, in what many are calling another legal charade in the dysfunctional Bahamian courts.
A possibly biased magistrate, coupled with the incompetent prosecution offered by the Bahamas Attorney General’s Office, has led to what legal experts view as another miscarriage of justice, slanted towards the Bahamian defendant.
Mrs. Dwyer feels the prosecution was intentionally weak, leaving the case to be decided on a “he said / she said” basis. The apparently Bahamian-biased magistrate, as usual, decided that the foreigner was a liar and that the Bahamian was right.
Mr. Taylor is also accused of stealing $100,000 from the woman after allegedly taking the money and failing to perform the services he was contracted for. When Ms. Dwyer went to demand her money back, she was allegedly assaulted by Mr. Taylor. The Supreme Court case regarding the money is still pending.
