The New Providence Community Church (“NPCC”) in partnership with The Church Of God Of Prophecy East Shirley Street and Operation Redemption Thompson Boulevard has designed a day for four hundred (400) underprivileged children in the community. The key component of the programme is to supply these children with needed school supplies that they would not otherwise have for their education. The day will include some fun and recreational activities for the children before returning to school for a new academic year. The camp will be held on the 20th August 2005 at 11am at two locations – the Church Of God Of Prophecy, East Shirley Street and Operation Redemption, Thompson Boulevard.
In an effort to defray costs associated with the purchase of the school supplies, New Providence Community Church is seeking a donation of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) from community sponsors towards our target of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00).
The challenge of reaching our youth is enormous and requires a concerted effort. Education is a necessity for all of our youth, and must be available to all of this nation’s children. The Government, the church, corporate entities and civic organizations must partner if our children are to function properly and make a meaningful contribution to our society.
