Miller Keeps Ducking LNG Meeting

How old is Leslie Miller? Because if he is an adult, he really needs to start acting like one.

It is obvious that Mr. Miller doesn’t like to lose. When he lost one of his sweethearts he allegedly broke into her house and stole all the furniture. When he was losing his debate with Manuel Diaz in Cat Cay, Mr. Miller, just like a little child, put his fingers in his ears and walked away. When he was losing the public debate on LNG he attacked his opponent with a racial slur.

Now, faced with powerful opposition to his scheme for LNG terminals in the Bahamas, Mr. Miller is refusing to schedule a much publicised Town Meeting on LNG.

So much for the consultative PLP government.

Some interested parties came from as far away as California, only to find that last Thursday’s meeting to discuss the pros and cons of a liquiified natural gas terminal in The Bahamas had been postponed for a second time.

The meeting was originally scheduled for May 3, but Mr. Miller postponed it because foreign energy consultants, representing the gas companies, were unable to arrive in time.

A new date was set for May 5, but, according to a spokesman, it was again postponed, this time due to the Prime Minister’s illness. Apparently, when DPM Cynthia Pratt said the business of government will go on despite the PM’s illness, she was not referring to the LNG Town Meeting.

Now, Mr. Miller has postponed the meeting for some other silly reason and says that it will happen, when it happens. “There is no great rush,” he said on Monday.
