Search On For Missing Boy

The search is on for a 15-year-old boy who was reported missing since May 4. Police say last Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., Rachel Elizabeth Thomas of number 56 Gladstone Terrace, came to Central Police Station and reported reported that sometime on Sunday, May 1, she went to Abaco with her husband Hayvard Thomas Jr. leaving her stepson Kataro Obrien Thomas home.

Mrs. Thomas said when she returned home, however, around 4:15 p.m. on May 4, she discovered that her stepson was not there.

Mrs. Thomas said she searched the neighbourhood and made calls to relatives and some of Kataro’s friends before going to the police station.

Police immediately contacted the Central Detective Unit, which is currently investigating Kataro’s disappearance.

Making his disappearance even more eerie is the fact that on this day two years ago, the first of six young boys who mysteriously disappeared over a six month span, were all discovered dead.

Cordell Farrington is awaiting trial at Her Majesty’s Fox Hill Prison for the killings. He turned himself in to police and reportedly showed them where he hid the bodies.

Kataro is described as 6 ft. 1inches tall, light brown complexion, muscular build, low cut black hair with three rows on the left side, dark brown eyes and two scars on the left side of his head.

He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, light blue basketball shorts and pair of dark blue Nike slippers.

Anyone with any information concerning the whereabouts of the juvenile are urged to contact the police crime tipsters hotline at 352-1919 or the nearest police station.
