Dead is Gerald Anthony Kawalec, 58, of League City, Texas.
Police said Mr. Kawalec died before boarding a plane to the United States to see a doctor about chest pains he was experiencing.
He was reportedly inside the airport’s terminal at around 8:40am preparing to travel to Florida when he suddenly collapsed to the floor.
Police said he was later pronounced dead by Bimini’s District Medical Officer.
Mr. Kawalec, according to authorities, arrived in Bimini with his wife, Diana, back on April 9 onboard their 42ft cruiser.
Arrangements were being made to have his body transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital in Grand Bahama for an autopsy.
