Another Investor Dismisses Grand Bahama

Two months after Prime Minister Perry Christie confirmed talks were in progress for the sale of the Royal Oasis Resort properties, and only a week after the Ginn Company abandoned another Grand Bahama development project, Harcourt Developments has reportedly pulled out of negotiations to purchase the beleaguered Royal Oasis hotel.

Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe, while revealing on Wednesday that he was not a part of negotiations with the Irish group, said it was his understanding that they had pulled out.

But, he said, Harcourt Development was one of many groups that had expressed interest in the Freeport resort property.

In fact, Minister Wilchcombe told The Freeport News that negotiations are presently taking place in the capital “as we speak”” and it “”is simply a matter of time.””
