Two Bodies Found Floating In Bahamas Marinas

The bodies of two men – a Bahamian and an elderly US winter resident – were discovered floating in separate Family Island marinas over the holiday weekend.


One of the bodies was pulled from the waters in the Emerald Bay Marina in Exuma early yesterday morning and the other from the Stella Maris Marina in Long Island after 1am Sunday.


The identities of the men were not released yesterday.


The body found at the Emerald Bay Marina was believed to have been “floating for several days” according to police liaision officer Inspector Waletr Evans.


On Long Island, the body of the US winter resident, believed to be in his early 60’s was discovered by a local resident around 1am on Sunday at the Stella Maris Marina.


Long Island police reported that the elderly man was seated at the stern of a vessel – “Stindrift” – moored in the harbour when he fell overboard and was pulled from the water.


The elderly man was taken to the local clinic where he was pronounced dead.
