Webmasters throughout the Bahamas are carefully tweaking their sites as they prepare to enter the Third Annual Bahamas Web Awards contest, in an effort to have their website recognised as “Best of The Bahamas”.
The Call for Entries in the annual Awards competition has been officially announced by the organizers of the prestigious web design competition.
From 1 June to 19 August, entries will be accepted for the 2005 Bahamas Web Awards. Webmasters and their clients who enter their sites help support the Bahamas Web community while generating a substantial amount of PR for themselves, their companies and those individuals involved in the creation and maintenance of their websites.

The Grand Prize
The prestigious Best of The Bahamas Award is the pinnacle of achievement in the Bahamian Web community. Each year, a custom designed trophy sculpture is created exclusively for the Bahamas Web Awards by internationally recognized Bahamian sculptor Antonius Roberts. The one-of-a-kind, virtually priceless piece of art is awarded to the Website selected as the “Best of the Best” by the distinguished panel of judges.
The People’s Choice Awards
The Web community at large will determine the winner of the People’s Choice Award. The winner receives an impressive, custom-engraved trophy and other prizes.
Each of the Category Winners, both in the Judge’s Selection and the People Choice voting, will receive a custom-engraved award and other prizes at the Awards event in December, 2005.
A “Hall-of-Fame” Award is also awarded, each year, to an individual whose contributions to the Bahamian Web industry deserve recognition. Last year’s winner was Mr. Brian Nutt for his pioneering efforts towards web development in the Bahamas.
