This is the fifth body that has been fished out of Potter’s Cay this year alone. The victim was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital where a relative identified him as Ed Brown of Mackey Street, police reported.
An autopsy was scheduled to be performed to determine Brown’s exact cause of death. But police said they had ruled out foul play.
Meantime, police reported that they also made an arrest in the shooting death of Philip Minnis, 27, a resident of Milton Street who was killed on Monday evening.
Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for crime, Reginald Ferguson indicated that a 22-year-old man is in police custody in connection with the incident, the country’s 26th murder for the year.
Minnis was reportedly gunned down around 9:30pm following an altercation.
Investigators were also continuing to conduct a probe into a shooting that occurred in the Bacardi Road area early Wednesday morning.
Police reports indicate that around 2:14am, a Milton Street resident was walking in that community when he was approached by two males in a red vehicle.
According to ACP Ferguson, the occupants of the vehicle took the man against his will to Bacardi Road, where he was shot.
The victim was subsequently taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital for medical treatment.
