Missing Men Mystery In Grand Bahama

Mystery mounted on Grand Bahama over the weekend as police continued to investigate the disappearance of two young men authorities believe were together just before they went missing.

Deangelo Cooper, 20, and Deroun Edgecombe alias “Sammy”, 27, were last seen on August 15 when the pair left Cooper’s house and drove off in separate vehicles, police said.

According to authorities, Angela Cooper, 41, of #4 Trumpeter Drive in Freeport came to the island’s Central Police Station last Thursday night reporting that her son left home in a green mini van on August 15 and she had not seen or heard from him since.

The following day, Melony Webb, 45, of #10 East Atlantic Drive came to the Central Detective Unit and reported that sometime on Sunday, August 14 her nephew, Deroun, left home and had not returned, according to authorities.

She reportedly said her nephew had lived with her for a year and she feared something had gone wrong since he had not returned.

Police said Cooper was last seen wearing a pair of blue jeans, a white t-shirt and a pair of white tennis shoes, and Edgecombe wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of long blue jeans.

Investigators are asking anyone with information into either of their whereabouts to contact police in Grand Bahama at 911, 351-9774/5 or Crime Tipsters at 352-1919.

In New Providence, persons are being asked to contact police at 919, 328-8477 or 322-2561.
