Abaco Markets Assists With Katrina Relief Efforts

Responding to the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina Relief, Abaco Markets has launched a relief drive through its subsidiaries in Nassau, Freeport and Turks & Caicos to raise funds for the victims in the Gulf Coast. While this drive was initiated as a joint venture between Abaco Markets and its employees, customers wishing to make a donation to this worthy cause can do so at any retail check out and will be given a receipt for their contributions. Abaco Markets will be matching donations up to $5,000.00 and all donations will go directly to the American Red Cross. VP of Marketing, Lesley Davies-Baptista noted, “Our country has often benefited from US aid and we, as a company, have many partners in the US who have helped us in our own time of need.” This drive will continue through September 30, 2005. Abaco Markets has also partnered with the Bahamian and American Red Cross in raising funds and awareness for the plight of those affected on the Gulf Coast. Mrs. Davis-Baptista encouraged employees and the general public to visit Solomon’s SuperCenter and Cost Right to support this cause stating that together, we can make a difference.
