Man Shot And Killed in Nassau

Police were on Thursday trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding the country’s latest homicide.

Police said the brutal slaying took place around 4:30am Thursday in the Nassau Street area.

According to Police Inspector Walter Evans, the victim who is believed to be in his late 30’s, was pursued by another male in the parking lot of the Nassau Palm Resort.

Gunshots were heard soon after, ending in the victim being fatally shot.

This latest tragedy marks the country’s 32nd homicide for the year. Active investigations continued into that matter as well as a stabbing in the Pinewood Gardens area Wednesday evening.

“A male resident of Jumbey Street was involved in an argument when three men attacked him,” Inspector Evans said. “During the altercation, he was stabbed in the lower back.”

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital where his condition was last listed as serious, police said.
