Trevor Kimron Crawley of St Margaret Road was charged on Monday with rape and forcible detention.
The matter was heard before Magistrate Linda Virgill and prosecuted by Inspector Ercell Dorsette.
It is alleged that the 30-year-old had sexual intercourse with a 19-year-old female without her consent. On the same date it is alleged that he took her by force and detained her against her will. Mr Crawley was not required to plead to the charges and was granted bail in the sum of $15,000 with two sureties. He is also required to report to the Wulff Road Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday by 10 a.m. A preliminary inquiry into the matter is expected to commence on December 7.
In other court matters, Wilfred Estelhomme, 36, appeared before Magistrate Marilyn Meeres accused of possessing and uttering forged documents.
He admitted that he possessed a forged Bahamas Certificate of Identity in the name of Wilfred Estelhomme on September 23. He also admitted to uttering the document. He was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until September 28 when he will be sentenced.

Also appearing before the magistrate’s court were three men who were each called separately to answer drug charges.
Pedro Greene, 52, told Magistrate Carolita Bethel that he possessed a gram of marijuana on September 24. He was ordered to pay a fine of $500 or if in default serve six months in prison. Raymond Ward, 25, appeared in the same court accused of possession of dangerous drugs. He admitted to the court that he possessed two grams of marijuana on September 20. He was given the option of paying a $750 fine or serving six months in prison. Additionally, Herbert Green of Sir Lynden Pindling Estates also pleaded guilty to drug possession. The 23-year-old had two grams of marijuana on September 22. He too faced paying a $750 fine or six months in prison.
