Winn-Dixie Stores has announced that pending approval from The Bahamas Immigration Department, Ken Burns has been named Managing Director, Bahamas Supermarkets.
Burns will oversee The Bahamas division’s 12 stores.
Nine of The Bahamas division’s stores operate under the City Markets banner. The other three stores operate under the Winn-Dixie banner.
In this role, Burns assumes duties previously handled by Bruce Souder, managing director, who is no longer with the company.
In addition, Bryan Knowles, Controller for The Bahamas Division, has been promoted to VicePresident, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer.
Burns began his career with WinnDixie in 1968 as a part-time Stock Associate. He has held several positions in his 35-year career with Winn-Dixie at both the retail and store support level. Most recently, Burns served as District Manager in the Miami Region.
