Police Seek Expert Help In Suspicious Deaths

Police on Grand Bahama said on Thursday they were still waiting for a pathologist from the Princess Margaret Hospital to arrive on the island to assist in investigating two recent sudden deaths.

Authorities said they would be able to proceed with investigations, once the post mortems are completed and they have the results in hand.

The police said that the forensic evidence from the autopsies is needed before any definitive conclusions can be made regarding the death of Perez Delano Clarke, 23, who was found lying face down last Friday on the kitchen floor at his residence with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to police reports, Clarke’s friends reported that they had seen him playing Russian roulette with a revolver shortly before they heard a loud blast and later found him on the floor.

Police said the forensic evidence would also assist them in determining whether Annie Thompson, 29, who was found hanging by the neck from a yellow nylon rope from the rafters in the bathroom of her residence on Monday evening committed suicide or whether foul play was involved.
