Christie’s High-Tech Delusion

Prime Minister Perry Christie hopes the College of The Bahamas will help the country become innovators and not imitators.

The Prime Minister outlined his dream for cutting-edge technology when he opened the state-of-the-art Administrative Building of the Cape Eleuthera Institute.

Powered by solar energy, the CEI campus “represents an an unparalleled opportunity to live, work and study in an innovative atmosphere,” The Bahamas Information Service revealed. “Our tertiary level institutions must be involved in the process of development and they must be integrated into the process of research that is taking place here in The Bahamas,” Prime Minister Christie said after the opening ceremony.

“It would be a great tragedy if the research were taken back to the home offices of the scientists who are being commissioned to engage in that research,” Prime Minister Christie added.
