Father Faces Incest Charges

A 43-year-old man was charged on Monday with sleeping with his 16-year-old and 20-year-old daughters.

He appeared before Magistrate Marilyn Meeres, where he was formally charged with incest. On one count, it is alleged that between April 2006 and June 2006, he had sexual intercourse with his daughter of 16 years. Between January 2006 and June 2006, it is alleged that he had sexual intercourse with his 20-year-old daughter.

The accused was not required to plead to the charges and was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 on each offence. A preliminary inquiry into both matters is set for September 27, which would determine whether there is sufficient evidence for the accused to stand trial in the Supreme Court.

Also, Stanley Morris, 46, was informed that he had a case to answer in the Supreme Court for charges of burglary, stealing and receiving.

The court found that on July 7, 2005, Morris, broke into and entered the home of Angela Scott at Hill Crest Apartments in Centreville.

Police say that he stole and received a black briefcase and a brown leather bag, which contained personal effects of Ms Scott. Morris was remanded to prison and is expected to stand trial during the next session of the Supreme Court.

In other court matters, Farren Rolle, 22, of Montell Heights pled not guilty to charges of threats of death and assault with a deadly weapon, when he appeared before Magistrate Marilyn Meeres.

Police say that Rolle threatened Joanne Bethel on June 13, with the intention of putting her in fear of death. On the same date, he allegedly assaulted her with a handgun.

Another charge alleged that he threatened Bethel with death two days later, on June 15.

He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 and the matter was adjourned to September 25.

Sergeant Neely prosecuted.
