Sean O’Neil Armbrister of Arthur’s Town, allegedly had sex with the minor some time in May, while in Arthur’s Town, Cat Island.
He was not required to plead to the charge and was granted $10,000 bail with two sureties.
Additional conditions of his bail require that he has no contact with the girl and report to the East Street South Police Station every Friday before 6 p.m.
A preliminary inquiry has been set for October 2 before Magistrate Marilyn Meeres. At the end of the inquiry if there is sufficient evidence the accused will be required to stand trial in the Supreme Court. If there is insufficient evidence he could be discharged. Sergeant Daxon prosecuted.
Carlene Cilien of Carmichael Road pleaded not guilty to attempted stealing and receiving.
It is alleged that the 30-year-old, while at the Mall at Marathon on July 1, attempted to steal a multicoloured handbag, a pair of Oakley shades, a brown leather wallet, $30 in cash, a cheque in the amount of $800 and other personal effects, together valued at $1,115.
The items were the property of Wendy Johnson.
Prosecuting Sergeant Ann Marie Neeley objected to bail for Cilien on the grounds that she had pending charges of a similar nature.
She was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison. The case was adjourned to October 23.
In other court matters, Brian Johnson, 18, of Carmichael Road pleaded not guilty to stealing a V557 Motorola cell phone, valued at $425, from Kryshanda Delancy on June 29 at 11:30 a.m.
The accused was granted bail in the sum of $800 and the matter is expected to continue on September 1.
Donald Ramsey of Montell Heights was charged with damage, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
It is alleged that the 39-year-old intentionally damaged a red, white and blue “Tommy” shirt valued at $75, the property of Detective Corporal 2369 Bowe, on June 27 while at Bethel Avenue.
On the same date, it is alleged that the accused assaulted Officer Bowe and also resisted lawful arrest.
Other charges indicate that Ramsey allegedly assaulted DC 2808 Laramore on June 26 while at Montell Heights.
On the same date police allege that he resisted the arrest by Laramore.
The accused pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. He was granted bail in the sum of $4,000 and is expected back in court on October 24.
