Leo Johnson, 40, of 2nd Street in the Grove was charged with unlawfully causing the death of Ericka Fowler.
According to police, shortly before 9pm Saturday they received information that a woman had been attacked at her home on Golden Gates Straight and Comet Terrace following an argument with a male acquaintance.
Upon arriving at the scene, police said they discovered the victim lying face up with multiple stab wounds about the body. Police also reported that the victim, who was an employee of the Tribune, had her throat slashed, and that the suspect had fled the scene in a black Nissan Sentra.
Johnson, who was charged before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez, was not required to enter a plea and was remanded to Her Majestyメs Prison until September 22 for the start of a preliminary inquiry into the matter.
