Pet Project

A family chose me as a puppy but after 2 years they grew tired of me. The people here at the SPCA can't understand that, since they find me to be a sweet, loving, gentle dog that is a pleasure to take care of.

In the Bahamas I am known as a Potcake, a breed native to that region. I was not having much luck finding my forever home in the Bahamas, so I got a ticket north to try my luck here.

Will you make me yours so we can be together forever?

This weekend is a splendid time to make a pet love connection. The SPCA is hosting an adopt-a-thon where adoption fees are reduced to $25 and hours are extended from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 19-20.

The SPCA will also have available animals at the Groton Old Home Days on Saturday, Aug. 19, and the Ithaca Farmers' Market on Sunday, Aug. 20, with the same adoption fees.

Adopt some love.

The Tompkins County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is located at 1640 Hanshaw Road in Ithaca. Our hours are from noon to 5:30 p.m. daily For more information, call the SPCA at 257-1822. The Pet Project appears on House & Garden every Friday. Visit other adoptable animals online at www.SPCAonline.com.
