Three Arrested At Airport As Officials Find Fake Documents

A 23-year-old Bahamian man and his three female companions, a 37-year-old Bahamian and two Haitians in their early twenties, were arrested by officers from the airport police station at the Lynden Pindling International Airport on Thursday night, after the two Haitian females were found with false documents.

According to Press Liason Officer, Inspector Walter Evans, the four were about to board a flight to the US when the fake documents were discovered.

In other news, Superwash on Nassau Street was robbed on Friday morning just after 4:00am by two males who entered the establishment pretending to be customers. One of the robbers was dressed in a camoflague outfit and was in possession of a handgun while the other was wearing a navy blue shirt and trousers . The two stole an undetermined amount of cash and made good their escape in a White Toyota Corrola traveling north on Nassau Street.

Meanwhile the body that was found in waters on Long Wharf, opposite Chez Willie Restaurant has [up to press time] still not been identified.The body was found on Wednesday morning by a young boy. Police officials said that the dead man had been in the water for approximately 12 hours and was found in a “standing position”. The body displayed no signs of outward trauma and was dressed in a white and beige shirt with beige trousers. Police officials said that the dead man was approximately five feet eight inches , of slim build and was sporting a low haircut. An autopsy report is still pending and police are asking for the public to come forward with information regarding this matter.
