Two Shootings and Five Robberies During Weekend

Police report that two shootings and five armed robberies occured, just in Nassau, over the weekend.

A 28-year-old man was shot in the chest and abdomen over the weekend, police said. According to police reports, the shooting took place sometime around 11:00pm on Saturday in the Eneas Street area.

The victim reportedly got into an altercation with another man, which resulted in him receiving gunshot injuries. The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he is listed in serious but stable condition. There have been no arrests in the matter.

A second shooting took place sometime around 4:30am on Sunday at the Lounge on East and Lewis Streets. A 20 year-old man received gunshot injuries to the left leg by unknown persons. The victim was taken to hospital via private vehicle where he is listed in stable condition.

Police also reported five armed robberies between Friday and early Sunday morning.

The first heist took place around 6:15pm on Friday at Dig Again Building Supply, Lobster Avenue, Golden Gates. Two masked men, both armed with handguns, entered the business demanding cash. They robbed the store of an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area in a champagne-colored Chevy Envoy vehicle.

The second armed robbery occurred about five hours later in the Mount Royal Avenue and Wulff Road area. Sometime around 11:30pm on Friday a 36-year-old male, walking on Mount Royal Avenue, was approached by three men in a blue Chevy vehicle. One of the men was allegedly armed with a hand gun. They robbed him of an undetermined amount of cash.

The third armed robbery occurred around 3:30pm on Saturday at Asue Draw, a business in the Crooked Island Street and Balfour Avenue area. Two masked men, both of whom were armed with handguns, entered the establishment demanding cash. The culprits escaped with an undetermined amount of cash in a green Honda Accord, license number 57606.

Several hours later, around 8:45pm, police received information of an armed robbery at Collins Avenue.
Police reported that a man was walking south on Collins Avenue when he was accosted by two masked men, one of whom was armed with a handgun. The culprits robbed the victim of an undetermined amount of cash, jewelry, a cell phone and a laptop computer.

The fifth incident took place around 12:20am on Sunday. Police said a man and a woman were on Nassau Street, when they were approached by two armed men. The couple was robbed of their silver 2000 Honda Accord, license numbver 195050.
