Privy Council: A Disgrace to Justice

Murderer Max Tido
Murderer Max Tido

The father of Donnell Conover, the victim of the brutal murder by Max Tido, is outraged and rightfully so at the foolish, irresponsible and injust decision of the Privy Council.  The laconic law lords of London decided that the brutal murder of Miss Conover wasn’t a serious enough crime to warrant the death penalty for Tido, a despicable scum who raped, murderded and set on fire a 16-year-old girl.

For years, Bahamans have been complaining about the incompetence of these British prigs and hopefully, now the country will decide to rid themselves of the injustice perpetrated by these jesters by supporting a regional Caribbean court of justice.

The Privy Council ruling will no doubt lead to spates of vigilante justice as it has become abundantly clear that there is no true justice in the Bahamas, other than that of the street.

The squeamish leaders of the Bahamas have failed miserably in protecting the citizens of the country. They are afraid to dispense justice and that leaves criminals thinking they can do anything they want, knowing that they will most certainly get away with it.  Even if a criminal is caught, they will be out on bail in a matter of days and it is almost certain that they will never pay for their crimes.

This has led to a massive surge in murder and other violent crimes in the Bahamas, in a society that is rapidly collapsing.

Bahamian activist Rodney Moncur, a capital punishment advocate, is calling for a national referendum to remove the Privy Council as the highest court in the Bahamas.

Mr Moncur notes that Families of Murder Victims, a pro-capital punishment group in The Bahamas, will be holding a march on June 25, at 9:00am, starting at the old City Market shopping center on Tonique William Darling Blvd.

Some people say that capital punishment does not deter crime, but no evidence of that has ever been offered. Conversley, it has been shown that imposing the death sentence for murderer and rape does indeed deter crime.
