COB Vice President Resigns

Dr. Kelley Duncanson, associate vice president at the College of The Bahamas (COB) Northern Campus abruptly vacated her position Monday.

Duncanson’s resignation that was announced in May was not scheduled to take effect until October, after which Duncanson said she intended to remain at the college, but return to the classroom.

An atmosphere of uncertainty now prevails at the campus as staff at the college said they are unsure of who will be brought on to take Duncanson’s place.

In the wake of Duncanson’s unexpected departure, some staff members said Duncanson might have left after growing frustrated with having no power to make decisions about the campus.

A staff member who made a request to stay anonymous said the situation is unfortunate and Duncanson deserved better treatment.

The staff member said there were too many restrictions placed on Duncanson, while decisions concerning the Grand Bahama campus were made by officials at the campus in New Providence.
