‘Mystery Deaths’ No Longer a Mystery

Word on the street has it that Bahamian police may be trying to cover up the murder of Amanda Burrows and her five-year-old daughter by classifying the deaths as “sudden deaths”, rather than investigating a certain policeman who is rumoured to have murdered the pair.

In another possible outrageous affront to justice, Bahamian police are classifying the deaths of Amanda Burrows and her daughter as “sudden deaths” rather than murder, despite the fact that they were drowned, with little 5-year-old Taja still in her pajamas. It is rumoured that a policeman was involved in their murder and the police are covering up the crime on the killer’s behalf.

A police officer named Paul Rolle, who is apparently the head of the Central Detective Unit, but maybe should not be, told reporters, “We have the autopsy results so now we are preparing the file to go to the coroner.

“There was water found in their lungs which lets us know they were alive when they went in the water and weren’t killed and then placed in the harbour,” Rolle said.

Mr Rolle apparently does not consider that fact that any number of drugs could have been given to Ms Burrows and her daughter to render them unconscious, either forcibly or without their knowldege, prior to them being taken to the pier and dumped into the water.

Did police examine a toxicology report?

This kind of shoddy police work is pathetic.  And when it results in someone getting away with murder, it is unacceptable. If it involves an intentional police cover-up, it is criminal.

Police say they will send the matter to the Coroner’s Court, but with 200 cases already before the Coroner’s Court, no conclusions will be coming anytime soon.
