A 29-year-old male Jet Blue passenger was detained by police in connection with a cocaine smuggling attempt. The man was already on board the flight when authorities removed him for questioning over $48,000 worth of cocaine he was apparently planning to smuggle into the United States.
The drugs, which were found in a piece of checked luggage, weighed more than seven pounds and are worth about $50,000.
This was the third attempt to smuggle drugs through the airport foiled within the last two weeks.
