Fourteen men, including four from Fort Lauderdale and two from Miramar, were indicted for their alleged roles in running an international cocaine trafficking ring, U.S. Attorney Wifredo A. Ferrer announced Thursday.
Among those charged in the indictment were: Frantz Bernard, 42, and Beverly Sharon Miller, 52, both of Miramar; and Joachim Pierre Louis, 28, Tyrell Patrick Josey, 23, Terence Demetrius Nesbitt, 34, and Ronel M. Theodore, 26, all of Fort Lauderdale, prosecutors said.
Also charged were: Jose Ignacid Sigler, 48, and Yumar Oliva, 42, both of Miami; Osvaldo Domingo Ceballo, 42, of Naples; Taverne Pierre Louis, 42, and James Francois, 24, both of Haiti; Kevin Hendfield, 49, and Jean Roland, 55, both of Freeport, Bahamas; and Kirk Irwin Pierce, Jr., 51, of Palm Springs, California, court documents showed.
All are accused of conspiracy to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine and more than 280 grams of cocaine base, or ‘crack’ cocaine, from November 2010 through June 2012. The indictment also charges several of them with individual counts of distribution and possession, prosecutors said.
If convicted, the suspects face 10 years to life in prison.
