Just when you thought you’ve seen it all, the PLP shows you they can be even more corrupt than you ever imagined.
This is the party whose former treasurer was indicted on money laundering charges. Their chief financial backers are gangsters and most of their MPs are seriously ethically-challenged. One is even proud of the fact that he beats women, making jokes about it in the House of Assembly… and during International Women’s week, no less. Even the young PLP’s are complicit in their bad ways.
Now, they plan to legalize web shop gambling, against the wishes of the church and the people. And to pour salt on the wound, they will let the money laundering gangsters, also known as the “numbers kingpins”, police themselves.
Now, that’s a corrupt bunch of politicians.
God only knows what kind of a deal the PLP made with the numbers boys, but it must have better than the deal with the devil. The gangsters not only get to keep the tens of millions of dollars they’ve made illegally, without any recourse or punishment, but now they also get to do some backroom bookkeeping to continue their money laundering… legally!
Even if you are a staunch supporter of the PLP, you’ve got to see this as a problem.
