The Ministry of Tourism, Westin/Sheraton, The Abaco Club and a few other group travel supplier/partners hosted a group of seven persons from Maritz Travel Company on an educational trip to Grand Bahama and Abaco recently.
Maritz, based in St. Louis, Missouri, is the world’s largest Incentive and Group Travel Management Company with over $400 million in group travel sales with offices in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe. The group, visiting the island of The Bahamas, consisted of the Director of Industry/Destinations Relations, travel buyers, proposal development managers and other account executives.
They spent two nights at the Westin Grand Bahama Resort, visited Pelican Bay Hotel at Lucaya and had lunch at Old Bahama Bay.
The group also spent time snorkeling, kayaking at Gold Rock Creek, Dolphin Encounters at UNEXSO. In Abaco they stayed at the posh Abaco Club at Winding Bay, visited Little Harbour, Abaco Beach Resort and explored and lunched at Elbow Cay and Hope Town before returning to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
