In an unbelievable display of contempt for the law, Royal Bahamas Police Force officers are withholding the identity of a hit and run taxi driver in an effort to protect the criminal.
Despite numerous calls and even a stop at Road Traffic the victim of the hit and run accident is unable to get the driver’s information from the police department.
The victim risked her life to get the license plate number of the taxi driver that hit her car and then sped away. The taxi driver (Tico Brown) violated the law when he hit the woman’s vehicle, violated it again by not releasing his driver’s information, then violated it a third time when he sped from the scene of the accident.
Police apparently have identified the driver but refuse to cooperate with the victim in bringing the driver to justice.
It is not immediately known why the Wulff Road Police Station would withhold the information or what connections the criminal driver has with police at that station.
It is no wonder hit and run accidents have increased by 250% in the past year when the police themselves break the law and violate the rights of the victims.
