Grammy award winning multi-platinum selling artists and the three (3) lead singers of the globally renowned music group, Bahamen, will rock the crowd, this Thursday evening, 24 March, in their first local concert of the year to be held at the Worker’s House concert hall, Harrold Road, 8 p.m.ᅠ Security will be enforced.
Bahamen singers, Leroy ‘Sweet Boy’ Butler, ‘Dreddy’ Rick Carey and Ryan Andrews, also known as ‘Friday’, will be the headline performers of a new show called, ‘A Night of Diversity, Excitement and The Ultimate Concert-Fashion Show-Dance Party’.ᅠ This event is sponsored in part by Kalik Beer, Celebrities Fashion, Bonneville Bones, Ad-Lux, Miss Bahamas-Universe, Anton Roker Limousines, Topshotters Sports Bar and John Bull.ᅠ Proceeds benefit The Bahamas Children’s Emergency Hostel.
Dreddy Starr (Rick Carey): “We have been performing as a trio without the band on tour all across the world, from Europe to the United States, on television shows for stations like ABC, NBC and CBS, but this will be the first time that Bahamians will come to see us perform without our band; the concert will be a real treat for our Bahamian fans.”
This is the group’s first show of the year in the Bahamas, coming just weeks before they embark on another world tour beginning later in the spring.ᅠ Other members of the band are planning to be present in the audience.ᅠ The trio will perform their hits including the global phenomenon, ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’, ‘Holla’ and ‘Handle It’ from their new album, ‘Holla’, currently on record store shelves.
Sharing the stage Thursday night will be pop sensation and Bahamas Idol champion, Mario Demeritte.ᅠ There are also performances scheduled by the Bahamian Karaoke Superstar, Paula Neely and more, including actress and comedienne Vivica Watkins and Rhythmic Seduction dance troupe.
Beauty queen and the 2004 Miss Bahamas-Universe, Raquel Horton will make a special guest appearance as will the new newly crowned, Denia Nixon.ᅠ The fashion show segment will feature contestants also from last Sunday’s Pageant, among the highlights.
At press time, more than half of the tickets had already been sold.ᅠ Tickets for this Thurday’s ‘Night of Diversity, Excitement and the Ultimate Concert-Fashion Show-Dance Party’ are available at Afrotique Hair and Nails Studio, Celebrity’s Fashion and the Juke Box Music Store in the Mall at Marathon.
