Police said yesterday they have three young men in custody in connection with the recent attack on St. Thomas More MP Frank Smith.
Two of the men are said to be residents of Elizabeth Estates, the other is a resident of Bain Town.
Masked men attacked Mr. Smith nearly two weeks ago, attempting to enter into his Eastern Road home, according to police.
Reportedly the men forced their way into Mr. Smithᄡ s home as he opened the door.
The MP has reported that a fight then ensued, resulting in him being stabbed three times in the back.
The stab wounds were not life threatening and the MP was treated and soon discharged from hospital after an overnight stay. Mr. Smith credited his defense on his attackers to his knowledge of Judo.
Inspector Walter Evans told The Bahama Journal that the three men, ages 21, 23 and 24, were being questioned about the stabbing incident.
The men were expected to be charged in connection with the attack.
