International Artist Javen To Host Local Charity Concert

R&B / Pop/ Worship leader and recording artist Javen Campbell is no stranger to The Bahamas. As a matter of fact most of the well known songwriter and singerᄡs family lives here in Nassau. Though a Bahamian by descent, Javen as he prefers to be called, is the son of a preacher and spent most of his entire adult years in the United States.


This multi gifted artist who is also a music producer and actor has successfully traveled the globe as a recording artist and gospel music minister. His ministry has taken him to places like Brazil, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Europe. When he was not on the road he served as the music director and worship leader for the 15,000 member ムWithout Walls International Churchᄡ with pastors Randy and Paula White. Javen has since moved on from his post as church worship leader and now enjoys leading thousands worldwide into the presence of God as an independent recording artist.

Now based in Los Angeles Ca, Javen is promoting his latest album “Change” from which several songs have become local hits including “Mercy”, “You Are”, “Behold IᄡM New”, “Holy” and “Fresh Oil”. His latest radio single “Never Give Up on Love” was a top ten hit on the US Christian charts. Javen who starred in the off Broadway musical “The Rock and the Rabbi” has also landed a starring role in the feature films “The Sixth” and “One Night with the King” which also stars Peter OᄡTool and Omar Sharif.

In 2004 Javen won two Marlin Awards and earned a nomination for Best Male Contemporary Artist of the year at the Southern California GUILD AWARDS. This coming Saturday Bahamians will get an opportunity to experience Javen live in a major concert format that is being staged at the Diplomat Center at 7:30pm.

The event will also feature Caribbean songbird and a Marlin Award nominee Belinda Telemaque along with local artists Harmonious Praise, Nu Generation, Landlord, Elder Vanderson A. Barnett, Kenyatta Taylor and Talbert Williams, the 2004 Marlin Awards Talent Search winner.

The event is being produced by Operation Reach, a newly formed community arm of the Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards in conjunction with 101.9 Joy FM and Bahamas Faith Ministries Fine Arts Department. The purpose of this concert is to raise funds for Eyes Wide Open, a local based organization comprised of parents of children with disability and special needs.

Harris Communications will oversee production of the actual concert.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door with a $5 admission cost at the door only for children 12 and under. For additional information interested persons can contact Harris Communications at 325-1615.
