The 8th Annual Power Summit, the influential hip-hop convention that brings together tastemakers ranging from DJs to recording industry titans and major brands, will be held in Freeport Grand Bahama this month.
RPM Marketing & Promotions announced today that Academyᆴ Award-winning actor and singer Jamie Foxx and Grammyᆴ-winner Kanye West, along with Busta Rhymes, Common, Shaggy, Pussycat Dolls, De La Soul, Q Tip, Black Sheep, Young Jeezy, Lil’ Flip, Sean Paul, Jazze Pha are slated to showcase at the Power Summit, which will be held from September 28 – October 1.
Foxx will headline the “J Records Extravaganza” concert before an audience of DJs, executives, fellow recording artists, business leaders and culture mavens. Kanye West will host a listening session where he will launch his new record label “Good Music”.
The Power Summit will also honor Russell Simmons with the Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be presented by Jay-Z at the Annual Power Summit Awards Dinner. Russell Simmons, Chairman and CEO of Rush Communications, will receive the Power Summit Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Jay Z. He has been instrumental in bringing Hip-Hop to every facet of business and media since its inception in the late 1970s, from co-founding the immensely successful original Def Jam Recordings to the red-hot Phat Farm, Baby Phat, Run Athletics, and Def Jam University clothing lines; to producing films, TV series including “The Def Comedy Jam” and “Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry”; on Broadway with the Tony Award winning stage production “Russell Simmons Def Poetry Jam on Broadway”; and many other industries utilizing the internationally recognized Def Jam brand.
Simmons is active in the community with the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation and the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network. Rene McLean, Founder of The Power Summit, made the announcement.

This year’s four-day Power Summit takes place September 28 – October 1 at Our Lucaya, on Grand Bahama Island, and provides a rare and intimate opportunity to reach the most influential DJs, artists, trendsetters, tastemakers and brands – the leaders in music and entertainment.

After having received an Academy Award and critical acclaim for his performance as Ray Charles in Ray, Foxx is now poised to conquer the music industry. The multi-talented actor/singer will perform music from his upcoming solo album at the Power Summit in his first-ever private performance in support of the project.
Kanye West will perform songs from his new record, Late Registration, in addition to hosting his “Good Music” listening session.
