Each year, the Bahamas Hotel Association (BHA) and the Ministry of Tourism recognize a number of individuals in the industry for outstanding achievements. These individuals are named as those representatives who best exemplify the quality of service and spirit of the Bahamian hospitality in their respective positions and fields.
The BHA Cacique Awards programme was initiated in 1987 on the occasion of the celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the Bahamas Hotel Association. ᅠIn 1995 the Ministry of Tourism expanded upon the BHA Cacique programme and established the annual Cacique Awards to honour individuals in a range of categories outside of the hotel industry. ᅠ
