There’s a potentially socially-destructive new game in town that has youngsters and the not so young running around in battle-gear, and working up a sweat.
Battlefield LIVE Bahamas, is a complete, balanced and fully play – tested game system designed to get children and adults back into sports and in the process help them to develop team building tactics.
It is the latest in team sports entertainment that combines physical exercise and video-gaming, for the young and young at heart.
According to owner of Battlefield LIVE Bahamas Limited, the introduction of this game to The Bahamas, and the Caribbean is because of his desire to see the availability of family entertainment go to the next level.
“Battlefield LIVE is new and exciting. Something that has been lacking for a long time,” says Farquaharson.
Experts attest that the game increases physical activity, improves team building techniques, and helps combat teen obesity.
According to Farquharson, “Battlefield Live is basically a combat simulation game focused on achieving team objectives. Scoring is done by referees who compare the teams’ performances together with the victory point conditions specified for each mission.
The weapons’ software has been designed to support games from realistic, historical game play to easy ‘arcade’ style play. It caters to a wide range of players without making the system too complicated.”
One of the pioneering concepts of Battlefield Live is its weapons’ ability to function and perform consistently with their shapes and sizes. There are six (6) categories of weapons: Light Machine Gun, Sniper Rifle, Assault Rifle, Carbine, Sub-Machine Gun and Machine Pistol. The sub-machine gun model is physically lighter and shorter, making it easy to use. However, it lacks the range of the carbines or light machine guns. On the other extreme, the Morita Sniper Rifle has a very long range and tremendous fire power but is relatively heavy, almost 1 metre (3 feet) long. On the battlefield the players can tell by the firing sounds or noises, and the shape of the guns, what they are up against.
There are several levels of play, making the game ideal for all ages. Additionally, it is also very popular in corporate circles in countries, with companies using it as a means of teaching “team building” is skills. Battlefield LIVE also can be used during Family Fun Sessions, private parties, and at corporate and community events.
