Bahamas To Expect Thunderstorms From Hurricane Earl

Local meteorologists confirm that the south east island of the Bahamas may feel the effects of Hurricane Earl as early as this afternoon.

Showers and thunderstorms are on the horizon as Hurricane Earl, growing to a category one yesterday, is projected to travel east of the Bahamas.

Meteorologist Neil Armstrong said, “On its projected path it should be east of the Turks and Caicos Islands between 2pm and 8pm on Tuesday. The south east Bahamas can expect increasing cloudiness with showers and thunderstorm activity as Earl approaches the area.

“According to the projected path, at its closest point, the eye of the hurricane should be about 245 miles from Turks and Caicos and 310 miles east of Mayaguana.”
