Seven Shot in Five Days of Bahamas Violence

The murder and mayhem of the holiday weekend continued Monday with three more violent incidents in Nassau, making a total of seven person who have been shot in five days.

A man riding his bicycle on Augusta Street was was shot in his left knee and left arm after being approached by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

Another shooting occurred around 11:00pm in the Bain Town area where a 27-year-old man was shot several times. Details on that incident are sketchy.

Less than two hours later, a man was shot in the chest as he was walking with another man and a woman through a short cut on Milton Street.

On Saturday, a three-year old toddler was shot in his right leg in Union Village off Wulff Road. A man was taken into custody but it was unclear what exactly happened.

Meanwhile, police have identified the body of 45-year-old Albert Hanna of Freeport, Grand Bahama, as the the man found in the bushes near a beach bar in Bimini over the weekend.

Two other men were shot in that incident.

Police say there is no evidence to suggest that any of the shootings were linked. Investigations into all matters are continuing.
