Syndey Williams, former US Ambassador to The Bahamas and husband of allegedly corrupt US legislator Maxine Waters, is embroiled in another scandal involving questionable payments from a lobbyist.
It has alleged in the past that Ms Waters and her husband pulled numerous unethical and possibly illegal real estate and financial deals while Mr Williams was Ambassador to the Bahamas, a corrupt island chain where drugs, human trafficking and money laundering are all but sanctioned by the political elite.
Ms. Waters has been ccused of improprieties before. She is still fighting charges brought by the House ethics committee that she improperly sought federal help for a bank in which her husband was a former board member and a current stockholder. She has denied any wrongdoing and has vowed to fight the charges in a public trial set to begin later this month.
