Basia Hamilton Gives LCIS Students A Lesson In Portraiture

What does the Queen Mother, Pope John Paul II and now the students of LCIS have in common? They have all been portrayed by world-renowned portrait artist Basia Hamilton. Mrs. Hamilton joined LCIS students this week for them to learn about her legendary portrait techniques and to invite the students to take part in a unique exhibition in May sponsored by The D’Aguilar Art Foundation.

Bahamian artist Antonius Roberts arranged the visit of Mrs. Hamilton as part of the school’s Art Institute program.

Mr. Roberts commented on the visit, “Basia has provided a unique experience for the students which they all enjoyed. She is an inspiration to all and I am sure the students will be motivated to produce some wonderful work for the exhibition.”
