Chinese Ambassador Bids The Bahamas Farewell

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Governor General Sir Arthur Foulkes bade farewell to  the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Hu Dingxian, during a Courtesy Call at Government House on Tuesday, February 8, 2011.

Sir Arthur noted that throughout the ambassador’s tour of duty, a number of historic and interesting developments took place. Those being, the “really generous gift” of the national stadium being built at the Queen Elizabeth’s Sports Centre; the pending Baha Mar project on Cable Beach, which he said is going to have a tremendous impact on the Bahamian economy; and the official visits of two high-level officials from China.

Ambassador Hu acknowledged that both countries have always enjoyed cordial relations, which is expected to continue.  He is expected to leave the country at the end of February 2011.
